THE VENUE

Braga is a historical city in the north of Portugal. It was an important place in Roman times (Bracara Augusta), the starting point for various access routes to other parts of the Iberian Peninsula. Today, Braga combines history and modernity, attracting people worldwide to live and work or enjoy everything it offers. It is 40 minutes by bus from Porto International Airport.
Created in 1973, with campi in the two most important cities in the area (Braga and Guimarães), the University of Minho nowadays has a central role in the region, is an important reference for the country, and is a recognized partner in the European and global scene. Academic writing is considered a relevant issue in its context. Although no writing center exists, academic writing is the focus of some compulsory or optional courses in master's or graduation programs.
