Paper submission will start on November 1, 2024 and end on January 31, 2025.
Under the theme Multilingual Academic Literacies: Challenges and Opportunities in the Age of AI, proposals are expected to address one of the following topics:

How do we understand and foster multilingual academic literacies?

What current social, political, economic or technological phenomena challenge or facilitate academic literacy development, and how do we respond to them?
-
How is the role of multilingualism in Europe changing, and how will this affect university writing?
-
How is the growing use of large language models and other GenAI tools affecting academic literacy and/or multilingualism?
-
How can GenAI tools help or hinder the teaching and learning of academic writing?
-
How can writing specialists best be informed/educated/trained to deal with the challenges of multilingual academic literacy in the present time?
-
Other issues, relevant to the EATAW community.
Session formats
Proposals should indicate the format of the session they are intended for:

Paper presentation - presentation based on research, explaining its theoretical framework, the methodology used and the results achieved (20 minutes + 10 minutes for discussion);

Practice-orientated presentation - presentation focused on practices aimed at promoting academic literacy (10 minutes + 05 minutes for discussion);
-
Symposium - session with 3 or 4 presentations focussing on a theme, moderated by the session's proponent (60 minutes + 30 minutes for discussion);

Workshop - session focused on a topic, involving participants in activities, discussions or experiences. (90 minutes);

Roundtable - 60-minute session focused on a topic that aims to stimulate discussion and networking on a relevant issue, an ongoing project, or a project to be launched. Presenters give a five-minute introduction to the topic, followed by 50 minutes of discussion, leaving five minutes for the chair and roundtable convener to summarise the discussion;

Poster - posters will be presented in specific sessions, where the authors will discuss their work with the conference participants. Information on poster format and structure will be provided in due course.

Abstracts should be at least 250 (two hundred and fifty) and no more than 350 (three hundred and fifty) words.
References, up to a maximum of five and according to APA 7 standards, are displayed in a separate field.
Abstracts will be evaluated according to specific criteria, depending on the nature of the proposal.
